Motor Trend puts the BMW 328i at the top of the pack
It is quite comical to read what the folks over at Motor Trend Magazine had to say about some of the sporty luxury sedan automobiles that it compared.
The personal at Motor Trend tested 8 cars that are the front runners in this unique niche in the market place.
In my marketing studies I have learned that testimonials are the best tool for letting the consumer know you have the best of what they are shopping for.
The good folks over at Motor Trend had a few testimonials after driving the new 2012 328i,here they are.
Lieberman: "we sat around screaming at each other for over an hour trying to determine if the Buick was in fact a lamer duck than the Infiniti. We spent all of three minutes declaring the BMW best in test and best in class. This is not just a win for the 328i; it's a massacre. A slaughter. Doomsday. Armageddon. I say this with a straight face: There is no competition."
8th Buick Regal GS
This is definitely not your Grandfathers Buick.I had to use Grandfather because these things have sucked since the 1980's.
7th Infiniti G25
Can we now stop with the Infiniti customers coming in and saying "I really like my Infinity but I would like to test drive a BMW" just buy one and be done with it!
6th Acura TSX V-6
V-6 really? have these these guy's seen the price of gas lately?
5th Lexus IS-250 F-Sport
You do know these are Toyota's with a higher price tag right? And they are loud cars to drive, lot's of road noise.
4th Audi A4 Quattro
With all the hype I hear about Audi why are they still behind Mercedes Benz and BMW?
3rd Mercedes Benz C 250
Mercedes came in third with a bad boost lag on the little 1.8 liter turbo 4 motor that comes in around 3000 rpm.The interior was not comfortable and the overall design was conservative bordering on boring.
The thing that jumps out at me when I drive a Mercedes Benz for comparison sake is the steering system is lighter and somewhat sloppy compared to the tight responsive sport steering on the BMW's. My experience in being a former Automotive Technician for over a decade is feeling the difference with the steering wheels.
Another aspect is Mercedes puts wood on their steering wheels.A sweaty palm on finished wood slips doesn't it?
The test group also noticed body roll on hard turn ins. Body roll is unheard of on BMW's
Even though Mercedes Benz is working on a new C Class,I'm sure they are taking notes of what the 2012 3 series has to offer.
2nd Volvo S60 T5
The Volvo was a likable car but the transverse engine and the transmissions weight being in the front of the vehicle had some of the critics calling it "a tank" and "a heifer"
BMW still surpassed the majority of the car manufacturer's with it's 50/50 weight ratio where the transmission is under you and the vehicle's weight is designed to improve handling, acceleration and braking.
1st BMW 328i
The testimonials at the top really say it all but here is the link to the article so you can see for yourself.

Evans: "What a car. There really isn't anything this car does wrong."
Jurnecka: "Last week I was telling a buddy (and huge BMW fan) that there isn't a single new BMW I'd even consider buying these days. I was wrong. I'd buy this car."
Febbo: "Maybe the most impressive thing about the BMW is that there is no superfluous stuff. They just built a really solid car."
Martinez: "Seriously, where's the M badge?"
Kong: "BMW wants to make my life difficult with a shocking product that is as good as it's been hyped."
Nishimoto: "BMW does what it does best with this new 328, and thus the bar is raised yet again."
Here's how they ranked (worst to first)

2013 BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible
I really do enjoy meeting new clients and finding out what their needs are in taking delivery of a new BMW. With a little guidance from some senior salesman at Classic BMW in Plano,Texas I have been shown how to really maximize the experience and make the test drive not only informative but to really show just what sets BMW apart from all other manufacturer's. The thrill of a lifetime starts when we take one of our many exciting vehicles out for a demonstration ride. Buckle up and hold on, here comes the new M6!
The newly redesigned BMW M6 returns more powerful, more athletic, more luxurious, and more efficient than before. Since the “M6” badge was first placed onto the kidney grill of a BMW back in 1987, this iconic model has exemplified the luxury and daily usability of a flagship BMW Coupe combined with true super car performance. Now, in its third generation, the all-new BMW M6 will be offered as a 4-seat Coupe and Convertible. The M6 Coupe and its now-signature carbon fiber composite roof panel will premiere at the Geneva Auto Show in March, followed by the M6 Convertible at the New York International Auto Show in early April.
The engineers at BMW have set out to again make a performance vehicle rivales by it's competition. The new BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible share the most powerful engine ever fitted into the series and will offer the high-torque 7- speed M-Double Clutch Transmission. The innovative Active M Differential optimizes power transfer between the rear wheels. This drive train, combined with extensive chassis and suspension development ensure the M6’s 560hp and 500 lb-ft of torque are consistently and predictable as this beast of automobiles launches from the starting gate.
The M6 Convertible starts production in April and will be available for delivery in summer 2012.
The M6 Coupe follows with start of production in July and will be available in late summer.
The new BMW M6 Coupe and Convertible will feature the same high level of standard equipment as the 650i Coupe and Convertible models, with M enhancements where appropriate. These features include carbon fiber interior trim, M Driving Dynamics settings for engine, steering, and suspension, the M Drive System (now with two M Buttons), 19” forged M wheels, Merino Leather Upholstery, and M multi-contour seats. The new M6 also showcases the debut of an all-new M steering wheel featuring new design , multifunction controls, and new shift paddles for the standard M Double Clutch Transmission.

Classic BMW named Center of Excellence 3 years in a row!
Just imagine Classic BMW when it had it's humble start.
It was 1971 in Richardson,Texas. American car enthusiast were buying American made cars and trucks because in those days you could get your moneys worth out of the domestic vehicles our parents and grandparents bought at the time.
Can you imagine the challenge that Lee Maas must have had when he opened the doors back in the days of Classic Muscles cars. I can only think that is was probably a strong belief in the BMW brand to even get customers in the front door.
Our dealership has a rich history going back over 40 years and the first BMW ever sold at the original location on Highway 75 and Beltline Road now sits in the Service Dept display area.
Now fast forward your imagination to 2012 with the vision of building and operating the biggest and one of the best BMW dealerships in the southern region if not in the whole United States.
With a large and knowledgeable staff to meet your every need in the realm of BMW ownership and the loyalty that exist in our staff and the brand that we deliver to our customer base.
Classic BMW has recently recieved it's third consecutive Center of Excellence award from BMW North America because of Sales,Service and the Parts departments all perfomed very well and BMW has reconized this effort three years running.
I recently asked Eric Maas how the scoring system worked to determine who has done a good if not a great job above expectations from market forcast and predictions.
Without going into lengthy details he explained it like this....
BMW has created what is called indexes with certain goals and points that look at every aspect of the BMW dealers business and what is considered to be exceptional performance. This is known as BMWs balanced scoreboard.
The dealership must perform at a high level in all catagories such as Sales, Service and Parts that meet guidelines set up by BMW for the overall satisfaction for the customer, dealership and manufactuer.
This certainly is a nice accomplishment when it comes to showing our new clients that they are starting a partnership with a company that truely understands how to get the job done right year after year.
I would encourage anyone to comeby to have a cup of our specialty coffees and just take a look at everything the dealership has to offer.Just like BMW has stated,"it will be an excellent experience"
My congratulations goes out to Lee and Eric Maas and all of the managment team that helps keep our heads held high and the customers expectation even higher.

2012 3 Series Sedans are here!
The BMW 3 Series has had a target on it's back for quite some time now.
When I hear people talk about the new Cadillac,Mercedes Benz,Audi or Lexus,
the banter about these car makers newly designed vehicles always seem to mention the
inevitable "This new car will be the best competitor for BMW's 3 series."
Well It's that time again, the time when BMW launches a new generation of the 3 Series and the 6th generation to be exact.
This occurs not because it's necessary,BMW does not wait until it's products are obsolete or "old" or to refresh them.Instead, even while the familiar generation is still going strong,BMW launches a new one to "stay on top" to take the existing attributes to a new level.Just when one might think it couldn't get any better,it does.
The newly designed 3 Series (F30 for the technical minds) has come out of the gates blazing a trail for all
to follow in it's tracks,again.
In it's October 2011 issue,Switzerland's Automobil Revue commented that it's "significantly larger, but holds it's weight." The design is a natural continuation of BMW's design language."
At Classic BMW in Plano,Texas we have taken delivery of three 2012 3 Series and "WOW" they really look great!
The vehicle is more roomier with an enlarged overall design.Greater feeling of space for the driver and passenger. Front headroom increased by +0.8 in. without the moon roof and the rear legroom increased by +0.5 in. 5.5" wider rear door opening angles, greater opening width and height, greater space between rear and front seats make it very easy to get in and out of this vehicle.Larger, more usable trunk space increased by 6% by European measurements where you can actually get 3 golf bags back there. They have also repositioned the front cup holders from the dash to center console and each front door holds a 1-liter beverage bottle.
The wheel base increased by 1.9 in. for greater riding comfort.
Tracks up 1.2 in. front/1.7 in. rear for greater cornering power. And to think these cars were already comfortable to ride in and stuck like bubblegum to the pavement in corners.
The 2.0 liter DOHC 16 valve inline 4 cylinder with aluminum construction, twin scroll turbocharger in the 328i is actually more powerful at 240 horse power compared to the previous E90 inline 6 cylinder that had 230 horse power.
